FOREIGN PATENT PROSECUTION MANAGER ROLE!




Are you a Foreign Filing Manager? Would you like to work with a top boutique IP law firm in DC? If so, R & W Group has a great new opportunity! One of our favorite law firm clients is looking for a Foreign Filing Manager. In this role, you would:

  • Supervise foreign patent paralegals, conducts training, assigns new work, and provide backup to foreign patent paralegals as necessary;

  • Implement policies and procedures to consistently provide a high level of service and to minimize risk;

  • Communicate with firm management regarding matters concerning the foreign patent prosecution department as necessary;

  • Mentor foreign patent paralegals and provides guidance to ensure best practices;

  • Assist in evaluating, recruiting, and interviewing new hires for the foreign patent prosecution department as necessary;

  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and new hire 90-day evaluations, and provides feedback on performance and productivity;

  • Manage foreign patent applications for designated clients with attorney supervision;

  • Prepare and process client and foreign associate correspondence related to foreign patent applications for the designated clients;

  • Prepare conversion deadline letters to client and prepares cost estimates;

  • Prepare PCT International Applications and processes PCT Forms from WIPO and reports to clients;

  • Prepare National Applications and PCT National Phase applications for forwarding to Foreign Associates, monitors applications and reports to clients;

  • Prepare formality documents and obtains legalized documents for filing in foreign Patent Offices;

  • Process foreign Letters Patent documents and reports to clients;

  • Coordinate foreign file intake and provides instructions to the Docketing Department as necessary; and

  • Work with annuity service to pay client foreign patent renewals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 8 years of foreign filing experience;

  • Knowledge of PCT and foreign patent rules and procedures required;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required;

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook); document management systems (e.g., iManage); and Adobe PDF file format;

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail;

  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with people at all levels; and

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

You must be able to lift 20 pounds. The office’s core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including one hour for lunch. Must be flexible to work additional hours.
