Jeff is an industry veteran with over a decade of staffing experience. After a successful career practicing law as a litigator in Washington, DC, Jeff joined an international staffing company and was quickly promoted to Managing Director of the DC legal placement office where he grew the legal business for seven years. Jeff has also worked as a senior executive with several national and regional staffing agencies, where he gained experience fulfilling personnel needs in the areas of Office Administration, Accounting, Finance, and Information Technology.
Jeff is a proud graduate of Vassar College and the Boston University School of Law. Jeff’s knowledge, vision and honesty have made him one of the most well respected professionals in the greater Washington, DC area. Jeff has presented seminars to law firms, corporations and associations across the country to help them maximize their employees’ potential.
Kathryn Parente brings 10 years of professional experience in recruiting and career services to Rhodes & Weinstock. Having worked in both corporate and academic career services recruitment arenas, Kathryn has a keen insight into the needs and challenges our clients face as they grow and maintain their staff. Previously the Assistant Director for Employer Outreach and Recruitment for the Office of Career Services at Georgetown University Law Center, she successfully established and maintained relationships with legal employers to ensure that Georgetown Law students had access to the best opportunities ahead of other schools. Prior to that, Kathryn worked as Recruitment Manager for the Career Development Office at The George Washington University Law School where she was in charge of all on- and off-campus recruiting programs, advising students on interview protocol, and assisting employers with recruiting needs. She also has a background in international development recruiting with a large global development company based in the D.C. area.
Kathryn earned her B.A. in International Studies from American University and her Master’s in Tourism Administration with a focus on Event Management from The George Washington University.
Kathryn lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband and son.
Helynn is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and placing qualified candidates with our dynamic pool of clients. More than just a Recruiter, she enjoys wearing many hats often taking on the role of counsel and advisor with her candidates. Helynn strongly believes that “recruiting is about relationships,” and goes beyond “just getting the placement”. She offers candidates a professional ear to discuss career paths and proper candidate packaging. Helynn’s dynamic work experience, ranging from executive level legal recruiting to project management and employment litigation, offers our clients a distinct vantage point to staff for the growth of their businesses. Prior to joining Rhodes & Weinstock, Helynn worked for an executive search firm where she managed weekly executive job/placement orders for 100+ partners in large US markets.
She is a proud graduate of Spelman College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law. Helynn is a level 3 certified Sommelier, wine enthusiast, educator and blogger.
Kara brings over fifteen years of proven recruiting experience to Rhodes & Weinstock, helping the firm to become one of the most highly respected in the industry. A successful background in staffing for large, international law firms gives Kara an invaluable understanding of legal practices, and an insider’s knowledge about what types of talent law firms are seeking. She has managed hiring budgets, summer associate programs, lateral hiring efforts, and training programs. Kara has spent her entire career collaborating with and providing professional counsel to attorneys and human resources administrators who value her guidance and good judgment, and more recently has utilized her talents to assist human resources professionals in other industries as well.
Kara is a proud graduate of Ohio University & earned her BA in Interpersonal Communications. She lives in Virginia with her husband and their two children.
Jacob Kates brings a wealth of experience to R&W having launched his HR career at a prestigious boutique Intellectual Property law firm in Washington, DC. His education and years of experience on the inside combine to create a powerful recruiting force for both R&W clients and candidates. Having been the client, Jacob knows the things most important to law firms as they attract and retain talent. And he certainly knows how best to deliver excellent customer service.
Prior to joining R&W, Jacob was an HR Assistant at Sterne Kessler Goldstein & Fox. He earned his BS in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland. Jacob lives in Baltimore, Maryland, with his wife and two sons. Outside of his work as a recruiter, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, exercising, and rooting for his “other true love”, the Washington Redskins.
Chrystal brings a power packed combination of legal recruiting, administrative and operations support to Rhodes & Weinstock. Chrystal enjoys the interpersonal aspects of developing new relationships, building rapport and providing job seekers with suitable opportunities to assist them in their job search. Having always partnered with recruiters to help her find new opportunities herself, she understands candidate’s needs and is able to deliver personalized, exceptional recruiting counsel to her candidates.
With approximately 5 years in the staffing industry and over a decade as an administrative professional, Chrystal will assist R&W clients hire the right people by recruiting top talent while promoting opportunities across industries.
Chrystal is a proud graduate of Hampton University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marketing.
Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, planning social events and spending time with family and friends.
Kendall Brennan began her foray into recruiting working as a research and administrative assistant for her parents’ executive search firm in high school where she helped source and prescreen candidates as well as sought out open requisitions for the firm. What initially started as a way to earn extra gas money turned into a deep interest in helping people better their careers, lives, and companies.
Kendall relocated to the Washington, DC area after moving to complete an internship for her college degree at an international PR firm. She brings enthusiasm to everything she does and listens to candidates needs and wants to help match them with the best position for their goals and skill set.
Kendall graduated with a BA in Mass Communications from Georgia College & State University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, drawing, and spending time with family and friends.
Kathleen Wiederman brings a diverse background as an attorney and consultant/analyst in the private and public sectors to R &W having launched her recruiting career as an independent recruiter in Washington, DC in 2009. With years of experience, Kathleen offers one-on-one consultation for candidates and superior, qualified candidates for her clients. Relationships are the key to success and Kathleen has built a trusted name and network in the recruiting business having worked closely with individuals and companies in areas including legal, IT, sales, and HR.
Kathleen Wiederman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Management from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and a Juris Doctorate from Samford University. She lives in Old Town Alexandria and enjoys traveling, French wine, being outdoors, hosting dinner parties, and networking.
